Blue Plastic Mulch

Like black plastic mulch, blue mulch raises soil temperatures and suppresses weeds, but it reflects a different portion of the light spectrum.

Trials have shown that this light reflection increases yield in summer squash, cucumbers, and melons up to 20%.

Research has also shown that blue mulch produces slightly higher soil temperatures than black mulch.
